“We may be established practitioners; we may be comfortable with our practice and working with our minds; everything could be going smoothly. As my teacher Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche used to say, “Practice is easy when the sun is on your back and your belly is full.” But when difficult circumstances arise and we are completely shaken from within, when we hit rock bottom, or when something is haunting us and we feel completely vulnerable and exposed to all our neurosis, then it’s a different story.”
Four Noble Truths in Daily Life:
“When dukkha is translated as suffering, it is understood as gross physical suffering. But in truth, dukkha can be experienced on many levels; the actual meaning of dukkha encompasses the whole range of human experience from very subtle dissatisfaction to gross misery. Dukkha is the inescapable fact of old age, illness and death. It is being separated from what one likes, enduring what one dislikes.”
In the issue of Shenpen Ösel it is said that „ in Buddhism, “Absolute Truth or Absolute Reality means the end point of one’s analysis, in other words, the most basic or fundamental element of existence or experience.“
Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche about Inhibitions, Conservativeness and Taboos:
„But if you fixate on the idea that in order to be virtuous you must be humble, then it can become a hindrance, because sometimes to truly benefit others you must use the opposite of humility. If a baby is moving toward a fire, it isn’t
skillful to speak humbly and gently; you have to say, “No!” forcefully. It is similar to the way
a Surrealistic painting by Miró might resonate more powerfully with someone than a beautiful
still life of fruit by Cézanne.“

When we were young, we never thought a tertön would come in a sort of army general uniform. Yeah, that's what he said: tertön, he is a great tertön. Later in Nepal, we were cleaning his house and out comes this box, a sort of black box that's wrapped with some silk. As soon as we placed it on the floor, His Holiness immediately said, "Oh don't put this on the floor." So we offered him the black box and he lifted it up and said, "Okay, come all of you," and he blessed us with this black box. We ask him, "What is inside?" “ (DJK)

„ What would you advise in order to maintain pure vision towards the teacher?
I think it's very important to know that whatever you are thinking or whatever judgment you're making, you are the one who is doing it. That always does seem to help.“ (p.3)
What is pratekya yana and pratekya buddha?
“The ultimate definitive vehicle
Certainly appears as three in number:
The vehicles of leading from the origin, Vedic asceticism,
And powerful transformative methods.”
Orgyen Tobgyal Rinpoche: Chokgyur Lingpa and his termas:
“The Buddha also taught a way in which we can make use of our emotions. In other words, without rejecting or suppressing them, the emotions can be brought into and used as part of the path, which is a very profound key point. The Buddha gave specific teachings for the desirous type of person, the aggressive type of person, etc. — teachings on union and deliverance, and so forth. The different levels of methods are usually given the name ‘the three vehicles’; the vehicle for Shravakas, the vehicle of Mahayana, and the vajra vehicle of Secret Mantra.”
Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche about Longchen Nyingthik Ngondro:
“Could you firstly say something about this Longchen Nyingthik Ngondro, Rinpoche?
It's like building a foundation for the spiritual practice. Actually, everything that we do prior to the main practice is a foundation practice, such as compassion and Lojong or the Seven Point Mind Training. Even, as you can tell from the story of Milarepa's life, building houses, dismantling the houses, building them again, things like th! at, are a foundation practice.”

Um dos treinos que fazia era ir à censura buscar provas".......Eu disse: "Olhe que esse vinho não se bebe", num inglês péssimo. "Então o que devo beber?" "Quando muito, um Alvarinho."......."Comprava meio queijo daqueles grandes, e gostava muito de ler o Sandokan a comer queijo fresco. O Freud era capaz de explicar, mas o Freud serve para tudo. É o Freud e o Fernando Pessoa."

"It has been many years since the Buddhadharma
has come to America and now it is firmly
taking root here. In the past, during the time
of the Buddha, India was geographically and
spiritually central to the Dharma. After that
it was primarily Tibet where the Dharma was
propagated. However, due to impermanence, this

Western countries to be where the teachings of

Jeff Cox: Not many people in the West understand what ngakpas are, though many have seen photos of these long-haired, white-robed yogis. Perhaps the one that is best known is the late Yeshe Dorje, who was His Holiness the Dalai Lama's "weatherman"—that is, he was called on to control the weather for certain occasions. I'd like to understand more about the pure ngakpa tradition.
Khetsun Sangpo Rinpoche: Ngakpas can marry and have families. Their practice is essentially inward and a true spiritual practice.
JC: Is a ngakpa lineage more involved with working with the natural forces, the deities of the weather, the local deities? Do they have a more shamanic tradition?
KSR: They are engaged in similar rituals and ceremonies as those in the shamanic tradition but there is a distinct difference. This is, for the ngakpa the purpose and final goal is enlightenment in order to liberate others and self. Usually in the shamanic tradition no one talks of enlightenment—it's only for healings and temporary performance, which are maybe only for this life's well-being. The goal is not as high.
