The 3rd International Forum on Buddhism and Medicine brings together leading experts who will present the most recent research and demonstrate how meditation and mindfulness techniques can be applied in a wide range of medical and therapeutic settings, as well as in one's everyday life.
The speakers include Jon Kabat-Zinn, Clifford Saron and Frédéric Rosenfeld, and Sogyal Rinpoche and Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche will share perspectives and insights from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.
The first day will give a comprehensive presentation of the most recent research, and an overview of some of the ways in which meditation is being applied in medical and therapeutic settings.
The second day will take a closer look at some of the different meditation and mindfulness techniques, and how they can be used in areas such as pain management, healing, stress reduction and the treatment of depression or addiction. There will also be workshops, with an opportunity for questions and discussion, as well as the chance to experience first-hand some of these meditation methods.
